For the record...

So I'm going to be a bit Eve and the apple here and do something that many may frown on. I'm giving the sacred vinyl a new lease of life, a new purpose. Don't hate me.
Everyone can get their mits on a piece of dusty old vinyl that's not seen the light of day for many years. Raid a relatives loft, dig deep in the back of wardrobes or spend a quid at a charity shop and hatch a plan. My first is a simple but mucho fun task of making a bowl.

What you need...
Vinyl record
Heatproof bowl
Oven
Oven gloves

The size of the bowl will determine the end shape of your bowl. You can choose with the end use for your bowl in mind or keep it a random shaped suprise. I went with my large steel salad bowl to make a wide shallow fruit bowl.

Get the oven nice and hot, stick your bowl mould on the shelf and place the record on top as central as possible, keep and eye on the record and watch it flop like a Dahli clock. Remove the bowl mould with record on top from the oven and place on a heat proof surface. You should still have your oven gloves on and there's about a two minute window for you to tease the folds and make them as neat or uniformed as you like.
